Hi, I need some help with college cause I am a senior and I can't make up my mind :(

Ever since I was little I wanted to get a degree involving animals, so I decided that I wanted to get a degree in Zoology/Biology/Animal Behavior something like that, and I was sure I had my mind made up but lately I have been thinking about become a photographer because that is what I do in my spare time as a hobby and I really love doing it. So should I go for the Biology degree because it holds a lot of good paying jobs and it has been my dream for seventeen years or should I go for the thing i love as well photography?

And if you think photography, where should I go to school, I see all these art institutes but they look really cheesy and stuff, does anyone know of any really good photography colleges?

thanks ;)

  1. I'd take biology if i were you... More secure pay and there's always a need for biologist. But if you want to be a professional photographer you'd better be dam good or super talented because if your an average college grad photographer i'd doubt you'd be noticed.

Whatever your choice is make sure you work your *** off and study.

  2. My first year or so of college I left my major as undecided which ending up being a smart idea. I ended up changing my mind soooo much for the first year then I finally chose a major and decided to see how long I stuck with that one. After a few months of not changing my mind I went with it and I love it! I would wait and take general courses at first to see where you really want to be. I go to a big time Pharmacy school where almost every undergrad you meet is going for Pre-Pharm and most change after the first semester. You don't want to take classes for a major and then figure out later you hate it and then you will have wasted time. Just give it time and the right thing will come to you. Maybe take a class in each major you're thinking about and see what you like better. Money shouldn't be a factor. I mean you don't want to be stuck with a job you hate! I say wait and pray about it and you'll know what to do!

  3. I agree with the other answers.  You should definitely stick to your original plan.  When you talk to other friends and faculty they like to persuade you into other routes.  This has happened to me and you just have to set your mind to it and just do it.  I'm a senior accounting major and I've been persuaded countless times but everytime I end up coming back to accounting.  The broader your major the more you can do with it but I often think the harder it is to get going with a job.  I hope that helps!
