  1. this should be in the math section, not the baseball section, but I'll help you anyway

    wins + losses = 109 games total

    Wins = losses +13 (substute this into the first equation)

    (Losses +13) + losses = 109

    2 x losses + 13 = 109

    2 x losses = 96

    losses = 96/2 = 48

    wins = 109-48 = 61

    The team had 61 wins, 48 losses.

  2. Even though your technically in the wrong section, i'll be happy to help

    x= no. of how much they lost

    3x+13= no. of how much they won

    x+3x+13= 109 -add the x and 3x together

    4x+13=109 -subtract 13 from both sides

    4x=96 - divide both sides by 4

    x= 24 -thats your answer for no. of how much they lost

    3x+13= 3(24)+13= 72+13= 85 - how much the won

    they lost 24 games and won 85.

  3. W + L = total games played

    W + L = 109

    let L be the number of losses

    so # games won = 13 + 3L

    and # games lost = L

    so 13 + 3L + L = 109

    4L = 96

    L = 24

    so the team lost 24 games

    13 + 3*24 = 13 + 72 = 85 games won

    to check yourself

    85 + 24 = 109

  4. they lost 24 games

    they won 85 games
