  1. yes i had my lounge carpet cleaned and it looks like a new carpet ,it cost £50 but was worth it. if you clean it yourself it usually takes ages to dry were as proffesional cleaned the machines used get nearly all the water out.

  2. Pro cleaning works, but costs.  Go to someone who rents a Rug Dr carpet cleaner.  It is more work for you, but it works.

  3. Professional carpet cleaning is expensive but it does work,if you can't afford to have it done, then I would suggest renting a carpet cleaning machine instead.I know that Home Depot rents them but I'm not sure how much it costs. There is a product called LA's Totally Awesome all purpose cleanser and it gets out really tough stains and it's concentrated. I use it to clean everything from the walls to laundry and it's found at Family Dollar and actual Dollar Store's.

    I hope this was helpful,Take Care!!! :)

  4. Over the counter products and do it yourself rental carpet cleaning machine are much weaker than professional ones, but even those vary in quality and cost. If the suction is not strong enough, then it would leave a lot of foam or chemicals  in the carpet even after cleaning. Also, most, if not all professionals will use the none foaming detergent as it will not clog the machine and lower it's performance. If an experience professional come to clean your carpet and you try to clean it yourself, I'm pretty sure he will notice the foam.

Professional Cleaning works and are very expensive.

I would recommend steam cleaning, which uses really hot water, hot enough that steam comes out to dissolve the dirt and stains. It is recommend that you clean your carpet maybe 1-2 times a year as carpet tend to be a breeding ground for micro organisms. After cleaning you should make sure that the carpet gets dry as soon as possible because water+warmth+shelter is a breeding ground for micros.

  5. I have found through the years that when you use a soap to clean your carpet that the dirt is more attracted to the carpet.  I now get it professionally cleaned by a company who uses Co2 to clean no soap at all.

  6. yes professional cleaning works, and costs $$

Try a self cleaning first - start with a deep vacuuming:  for the rest we need more info.

Stain removers work if you blot up the wet yourself

  7. I bought an old camper earlier this year and had professional carpet cleaners come in and clean it. It looks great. I highly recommend professional carpet cleaners. Keep an eye out in your weekly papers, sometimes they have really good coupons to use.

Around here (a major college town), I had a three room apartment cleaned for only $100. However, I know they're a little more expensive in outlying towns.
