About a week ago I was in a little accident. I jumped off a short bridge into to shallow of water I guess. I landed on a sandbar with one foot. I landed so hard I strained a joint in my foot. When I went to the E.R they told me it would take about 3 days until I could walk on it. About four days later I could walk on it with minimal pain. Now (four days after) I have a lot of pain in that same foot when I walk. It feels like a little click when I walk, but it hurts extremely bad. I have a huge bruise on the top of my foot and on the side.

Can anyone tell me what they think I did, or anything that might have happen. I really don't understand what went wrong.

Just in case you need it, I did do a lot of walking after I could first walk . Would that have anything to do with it?

  1. You didn't strained you foot you have sprained it at the joints or the ankle and may have stretched you ligaments as well .When you get hurt on your feet or ankles it's important that you give it a rest and try to put very little weight on it . The bruise on top of foot shows you the extend of your damages . Please stay off and very little pressure and it will heal on it's own . You may want to soaked in cool water for 20 minutes . and put your  foot up . You may chip your bones as well if the pain persist seek the advise of your physician .Good luck and have a great day .
