I bought a used x box for 50 bucks. It plays fine with the x box games. When I tried to play Madden 08 live,I had all kinds of issues. Can it play "live cd's" or not?On screen instructions said I needed a internet hook up.I thought these were plug in and play.I'm an older guy and have no clue how this stuff works.Do I need to buy a 360?A x box live?Or is there an Madden 08 regular x box game?HELP!!!!

  1. If its an xbox 360 game you need a xbox 360, but if you want to play it live you need a internet hookup!

  2. The newest Madden Game is for Xbox 360. As far as I know you cannot play 360 games on the old console. And, no they will not be coming out with any new games for the old console. If I were you I'd go to a place like Gamestop where they buy sell and trade used games, and see if you can get some used games for the old xbox.

But if you want to play anything online, which is what "xbox live" is you need an internet connection. As far as I know you can still play online with the old console. But you need to run an ethernet cable from the console to the computer, and then pay for the xbox live service.

Xbox live will only play on the tv, not the pc, but you still need internet service and xbox live service, in order to play "online" with other people who have that service.

If you want to be more up to date, and have a better chance of being able to find games, I would get xbox 360. Even if you don't want to play online and get xbox live, it's worth it. We have one. I don't play as much as the kids, (I'm 34). But It is one of the best investments we ever made.

E-mail me if you want to ask anything more. Either me or my 15 yr old son can help.

  3. In order to play a "live" game on the internet you MUST have a high-speed internet connection and an Xbox Live account all set up and connected to your Xbox. You don't really need an Xbox 360 to play live games but you DO need the Live account/internet connection. I'd personally reccomend getting rid of the Xbox and getting a 360 to be honest, it's much more fun, better graphics and there's a ton more people to play online with as well as better games.
