  1. If this is a PADI course, everything you need is on the management slate. It was included in your crew pack. It lists what you need to document, contacts for DAN, a scene flow chart and even tells you what to do with the victim's gear.

Since every accident is different and the slate covers quite a bit, it's impossible to go through it in this type of conversation.

Ask your instructor if there are parts of it you don't understand. All of this is in your course material and should have been taught.

Edit: Uhmm..if it's a PADI course, you have everything you need in both instruction (hopefully, but usually unless it's a warm water or resort you ought to) and in the crew pack manual. If you don't get what they are teaching you, move on to another shop. Rescue certs need to be able to think on their feet.  This isn't some bull cert. It's pretty d**n important. It's not a joke and it's what ANY real diver aspires to at the very least.

You're asking this here...are you really diving?

It  gets a lot harder on the way to asst Inst. You ain't gonna make it until you understand why it's important  that you actually know this stuff like the back of your hand. You need to be able to prioritize a list of tasks to accomplish for the given situation.

Edit: Since no single dive injury is identical to another, you need to be able to think outside the box if needed. Sure, there are some basic steps ( again...it's on the management slate) but there may come a time when nothing on that slate is applicable to the situation you find yourself in. I still don't understand why you are asking this here. It's all covered in your course instruction and in your course material. As for the person phoning EMS...who says you have cell service? Who says that at that very moment, using that person to help you stabilize a victim or to help make the scene safe to prevent other injuries isn't more important? You see? That phone call just may not be the most important thing at that very moment.
