Question:

I need help with an itching problem I've had for many years?

I don't know when I started, I think around 13 or 14 years old (I'm 17 almost 18).

It's really hard to explain but my body gets itchy all over whenever I take a shower, sweat, or just doing something that requires more effort than sitting standing or walking. I've read around the internet and some people have similar itching problems but it only happens when it's in the summer time. My itching problem goes on year round! It even happened frequently when I was really cold!

This might also help but usually the places that itch have dirt I can scratch off. For example my skin around my belly button starts to itch so I scratch that area and when I look at my finger nail it has some dead skin under it. Now you're problem thinking I don't shower enough, but I do! I shower once a day for at least 10 minutes scrubbing all over and double checking every area, But it also itches in the shower so whenever I itch somewhere I try to wash that area really good, but even that doesn't help much because once I get out of the shower some areas are still itchy!

I moved to the east coast when I was 15, and maybe the climate here has something to do with it, but I think I had this problem before I got here.

Please any help is appreciated, and if anybody else has this problem that would make me feel so much better. I can only visit the Doctor every six months and I always forget to tell him about this!

This condition has annoyed my life, I itch almost constantly =(

  1. LOL what sort of stupid u r that u forget to tell to u r dr and it seems u so disturb of that

write all the stuff on slip b4 going to the dr so that u shall not forget

u can buy the non prescription cream from pharmacist and or try some olive oil may be its because of dryness.

the dermatologist can help u in just one second writing u the prescription cream for that

    good luck

  2. Well scabies can cause itching but if that is what you had you wouldn't forget to tell your doctor about it because after 2 yrs you would have had more symptoms than just itchiness. You probably just have very dry skin. Try using lotions for extreme dry skin to moisturize your skin. If that doesn't help then perhaps you may want to take a look at your soaps/body washes and detergents. You could have an allergic reaction to them. Try switching to see if that is the case. If neither of the above help then write yourself a reminder the next time you go to the doctor so that you don't forget to mention it to him/her.
