I have a relativly new Cort 5 string bass. I have five k***s, and i have no idea what they do aside from one seems to be total volume. it has active electronics. I play a little of classic rock and a little jazz/blues. i need a few opinions on how to equalize it for it to be optimal in these situations. I know ill need two different settings, but if anyone has any clue what to do, please help! i have both bands starting to rehearse in under a month. I just got the bass used last night, so im still learning about it. my original bass was an old and weary Squier P-Bass, so im not used to this many tone options (haha). I also am running off of a Kustom amp, Clestion powered. That has four tone k***s (low, low mid, high mid, high). So any ideas, please hit me up. Much Obliged!

  1. Hi KB

On the Cort bass, if it has active electronics, their should be a flat spot notch on the k***s which represent aflat level.By putting the k***s on thet knotch, or by butting all the k***s in their dead center, you can then try each k**b separately, turn them all the way up and all the way down.

This way, you will know what each know does. Usually, the k***s on active electronic pickups have , two volumes and 3 tones ranging from full bass to, mids to treble.

As for the bass amp, use 6.5 on low, 5 on low mid, 3 on high mids and treble.

Now if you want a jazz sound, lower the low mid and the high mid to get that deep sound .
