i have run the RCA cables from the head unit to the amp, and i have run the ground cable off the amp. with the remote cable do i just strip the wire and clamp it with the one coming out of the back of the head unit?

also, do i just cut my power cable to insert the fuse?

what is best to ground the amp to? any metal on the car?

thanks

  1. Your ground from your amp needs to go to a solid part of the car that's bare medal.  Break out the sand paper if you have to.  You need a good wire to metal contact.  Your primary power wire from your amplifier needs to go all the way to your battery.  The other wire, remote turn on, should go to the head unit to be connected to the remote turn on there so the amplifier will come on with your head unit and not run all the time.  As for the fuse you mentioned, I'm guessing you're talking about the fuse for your main power wire, that needs to be as close to the battery as you can make it.  And yes, you'll probably have to cut your power wire to stick it inline under the hood somewhere.
