I need help with doing an essay on history?

I have to choose two topics to write a essay on....which two do you think is the most interesting?

1. Creating an Empire: The roots and motives of imperialism; US interventions in Latin America; Hawaii; Spanish American War; the Filipino-American War.

2. Progressive Era: social reform movements; democratizing American elections and reforming American politics; the women’s suffrage movement; national progressive reforms.

3. World War I: the grand alliances; the events leading to the start of World War I; Von Schlieffen Plan; fighting the war; US role in World War I; the Versailles Treaty.

4. The Depression and the New Deal: factors contributing to the onset of the Depression; assumptions and policies of the New Deal; changes in the role of the national government and the office of the presidency.

5. World War II: Hitler’s n**i Philosophy and the German March to Empire: The beginning of

War in Europe; World War II

That depends upon your interests. It is easier to do an essay if you are interested in the topic. Check out the site below. It consists of World and US History. Scroll to the American History section and look at the links for some of your topics. You can then decide which ones you would like to learn about while doing an essay.

Empire, because we as a country did everything wrong or different than what we believe in. All men being created equal... except natives who have land that we want.

WWI because it was the first modern war, it was a war that the generals were trained to fight a war in the past and could not adjust to the new weapons.

3 and 5. You're talking about two of the world events that greatly shaped the twentith century. Nations both rose and fell thanks to both wars, changing the face of world maps.
