I need a self clinching M4 nut/stand-off for a 3mm aluminum sheet....but due to sealing constraints, i cannot drill a through hole.

Is it possible to pressure-fit the nut using only a blind hole.

I am aware of Blind stand-offs, but they are not available locally (and are very expensive to import)

please suggest easier alternatives........(also should satisfy flushing.)

  1. Maybe i'm not understanding the specific question or application, but if you're dealing with aluminum sheet metal and you need a good seal, what I've used most often is pop rivets and either permatex, TXV, or, in a bind, electrical tape for a joint in the aluminum.  If you need a stud for mounting something on aluminum that thin, you're probably going to need to attach either by weld or rivet a backing plate.  I'm not overly ffamiliarwith civilian lingo, so if I in now way helped sorry about that.
