I need help with finding a gift for an 11yr old boy with down syndrome?

He is also severly mentaly handicapped. What would make a good birthday preasent for him?

Take what his mental age is and then buy a toy for that age bracket.  Also, if he doesn't have use of his hands, maybe you can get something that he can enjoy watching or listening to.  Pay attention to what he likes to do and it should be a little easier to find something.  Make sure that there is nothing he can choke on when buying a toy.

Action figures or hot wheels. Always popular with kids from three years to ten or eleven.

I worked in a classroom with down syndrome children and one child loved finger puppets! He carried them everywhere...kept them in his pocket. He was 10 years old.

Speak to his parent, and see what kind of age his mind is at. Get an age-appropriate toy based on that.

My son who is as "normal" as anyone -not downs, still loved these at 11, and I bet this boy would too.
