I need help with getting an Apprenticeship from my Work.?

Question

I work for a Construction company doing Joinery and between days i'm in college. I asked my boss if it was possible that I could have an Apprenticeship and he said no, so I asked why and he told me he doesnt want to pay all my wages, so I'm wondering if weather my boss could get a grant off someone like my college or the government to take me on as an Apprentice because him not paying all my wages may swing his decision around, so if anyone knows of any scheme I would be gratefull to hear from you. cheers

Depending where you live (US or not), check with you local State Employment Office.  There are some government programs that do OJT (On-Job-Training).  These programs will part of the wages.  Also, check with the local trade unions.  They sometimes will have apprentice programs.
