  1. Find out if any of them are a variation of another name. For expample, my name Bryant comes from Bre, which is Ireish yet dates back to england and further to france then back to england and then ireland. Looking up surnames sometimes is'nt easy, and if it's a variation of a previous name, it will make it harder. Find out where your last known relative was born, start with county records and go back from there?  Check the Ellis Island records, perhaps they came through and you'll have a better chance of finding where they came from?

  2. This is what www.ancestry.com has to say about the names

    Huff Name Meaning and History

English: topographic name for someone who lived by a spur of a hill, Old English hoh (literally, ‘heel’).

German: from the Germanic personal name Hufo, a short form of a compound name formed with hug ‘heart’, ‘mind’, ‘spirit’ as the first element.

    Hough Name Meaning and History

English: habitational name from any of various places, for example in Cheshire and Derbyshire, so named from Old English hoh ‘spur of a hill’ (literally ‘heel’). This widespread surname is especially common in Lancashire.

Irish (County Limerick): variant of Haugh 1.

    Blythe Name Meaning and History

nickname for a cheerful person, from Old English bliðe ‘merry’, ‘cheerful’.

habitational name from any of several places called Blyth or Blythe, especially Blyth in Northumberland, named for the rivers on which they stand. The river name is from Old English bliðe ‘gentle’, ‘pleasant’.

    Reeves Name Meaning and History

    patronymic from Reeve.

topographic name for someone who lived on the margin of a wood, from a misdivision of the Middle English phrase atter eves ‘at the edge’ (Old English æt þære efese).

    Hope this helps.

  3. The first place I would try is World Connect on the web, a database of family trees. A search for Huff I just did brought up  Richard The Immigrant Hough 1, born in 1660 in England, died 25 MAY 1705. Drowned in the Delaware River, Pa. Immigration: 29 SEP 1683 Philadelphia on the ship "Endeavor" from Cheshire in England. This indicates Huff is  probably English. Email the researchers with your question that have posted family data on World Connect.

  4. Put your family surnames in a google search engine and you get information on the origin and meaning.  I've done it by searching for XX surname orgina and meaning.. XX is what ever surname I'm searching for.

  5. All of those names are British in origin.
