Is this a good location? It is a hotel.

Stahlbaustrasse 17 DE Riedstadt, 64560, Germany

How far is it from the airport. Is it close to a train? I have been looking for a hotel for weeks now, I don't know a thing about Germany. I will be there for 5 days and would like to see as much a possible on a small budget. Can any one help?

  1. You can look it up on Mapquest. Check the link.

Germany has excellent public transportation which is clean and extremely punctual. The schedules should be available

from your hotel concierge. You will have a great time.

Germany is a real fun and easy place to visit.

Most likely your hotel will be on some bus route and easy to get to and from with a little practice.

From the looks of the map, you are in the southwest of Frankfurt a.M. You'd most probably have a bus route that takes you into Darmstadt. From there, you can easily take an S-Bahn north into the city itself. Darmstadt has a Festhalle and so does Frankfurt as well as Offenbach (another little town close by) Many excellent concerts are performed there.

The airport is called Rhein Main and is located west of your hotel. A good suggestion is to read the S-Bahn Route Plan and visit the major stops in the big city. Hauptbahnhoff, Hauptwache and Konstablerwache. There is a lovely catherdral there called St. Bartholemew's near The Romer, and  Rathaus (City Hall). Just exit the S-Bahn at the Romer and walk South to the Cathedral (you'll see it). You can go in and up to the top of it during visiting hours. Then further south across the Main River is Sachsenhausen. Very nice pubs and live music almost everynight. You'll have a ball.

Along the river are some riverside cafes and even riverboat cafes with excellent food and specialty drinks.

Try some Applewein, it's their specialty.

I was stationed in Frankfurt - Hoechst for 2 yrs and have been all over Frankfurt using public transportation exclusively. The City is like a clean Mini-Chicago and has very much to offer any tourist with very few hazards at any hours of day or night.

Note the S-bahn link at the bottom of route S3 and S4

    is Darmstadt. :)
