ok so heres what i dont get

1. direction: define variables and write an equation to model each situation.

problem: what is the number of slices of pizza left from an 8 - slice pizza after you have eaten some slices?

2. directions : define variables and write an equation to model the relationship in each tabel

problem: number of hours....4...6...8..10

total pay...........$32......$48.....$64....$8...

  1. 1. Y=8-X

    whereas y=the number of slices remaining and x=the number of slices eaten.

    2. First we need to establish our hourly rate. To do this we simply divide the amount of pay by it's respective number of hours. So 32/4=8 dollars per hour (for the record 48/6 and 64/8 would have yielded the same result, I think you made a typo when putting 8 with 10, it should be 80). So now that we know our hourly rate our equation would be:

    Y=8x

    whereas y=total pay, and x=number of hours worked.
