  1. I dont think there really is a way to cheat, the only thing I can suggest is to remember that every multiplication problem can be rewritten as an addition problem if you can't multiply it off the top of your head.

So you may know that 9*7  = 63 off of the top of your head then you wont have a problem with it.

But if you dont then you can rewrite it as:

    9*7= 7+7+7+7+7+7+7+7+7=9+9+9+9+9+9+9

And then just do the addition.

  2. Just memorize the multiplication table for the digits 0-9. That's the basic building block you need for multiplying larger numbers too. Multiplying anything by 0 or 1 is obvious so really you're dealing with just 2-9. That multiplication table is an 8x8 grid, so 64 values to remember. But its easier than that, because for example 5 times 8 is the same thing as 8 times 5, you don't have to memorize it twice. So make flashcards, 2x2 up to 2x9, then 3x3 up to 3x9 (no need for 3x2). And so on. It comes out to 8 + 7 + 6 + 5 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 1 = 36 flashcards. Make 36 flashcards, study them until you have them memorized, and congratulations you're a basic multiplication wizard!

  3. Good Luck!

  4. write answers down on your hand, or for a better alternative, try purchasing or making your own flash cards or multiplication tables.

but seriously if you don't know you're dumb.

  5. most multiplication is easy - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 times tables are straightforward. 7, 8 and 9 are harder.

Concentrate on the harder numbers that you find difficult, and practice, practice, practice ! An hour a day for the next couple of weeks, and you will have this beat !
