need to pump the gas for it to start.

And it wont stay running unless you give it gas for about 25 secounds or so. Then it runs.

And when im driving, when i take my foot off the gas, the car decelerates rapidly. Also, when i stop at red light or a stop sign, and when i start to pull away, the car kinda lurches or bucks two or so times, then it starts to accelerate. Also a light black smoke is coming out of the exhaust. I just bought it yesterday from a friend and he said something about a vaccum leak?

How could i check, and where are the hoses?

Im only 17 and i dont know much about the vaccum hoses and such.

How hard are they to replace?

And what exactly am i looking for?

If its not the Vaccum hoses, what else could it be?

The air filter is clean, the spark plugs are newish. It has about 115,000 miles. It Hesatates when accelerating, and when i let off the gas it decelerates quickly.

Someone said something about spider Injectors. What are they?

  1. my answer is try to check it out first on auto repair shop..

  2. look at the fuel pressure regulator, there is where your vacum leak may be.

  3. could be a partially clogged fuel filter, a bad diaphragm in the fuel pump, vacuum leak , a pin hole in the gas line.throttle body positioning sensor.

Is the service engine light on ? If so drive to your local auto zone and have them rum a diagnostic check on it.

Fuel injectors , yes. Spider injectors, no . someone is pulling your leg.
