I need help with my German?

Ich werde das Buch lesen-I am going to the book read.

But really it says. I am going to

read the book.

What I am asking is, what is the sentence structure. I am having difficulties setting up sentences in German

The basic sentence is "Ich lese das Buch" = "I read the book". You see that the structures of both sentences are equal (subject - verb - object). Of course in the German sentence the verb has to be inflected and the object (das Buch) has to be put in the accusative case (that shouldn't be too difficult since whenever a noun is either feminine [die Frau] or neuter [das Buch], nominative and accusative do not differ).

So all you have to consider is that in your sentence "Ich werde das Buch lesen" there is a main verb (lesen [read]) and an auxiliary verb (werden [will/to be going to]). Whenever there is an auxiliary verb, the main verb is not inflected, whereas the auxiliary verb is (that's why you don't say "Ich werden lese" but "Ich werde lesen"). The auxiliary verb takes the place of the main verb and the main verb's infinitive form is simply attached to the sentence. That's all. So the structure is:

subject - auxiliary verb {inflected} - object - main verb {infinitive}.

This pattern applies to any auxiliary verb like können, müssen, wollen, möchten, dürfen, etc.: Ich muss das Buch lesen, du kannst Gitarre spielen, der Mann möchte das Lied hören, ihr wollt ein Auto kaufen...
