If you have an HDMI cable will the tv picture be better than normal? I'm not talking about DVD player or VHS player. I'm talking about tv stations.

Also do you connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI DVD player to get the better quality?

  1. HDMI is the premier form of connection right now, especially when it comes to HD. Another bonus it that a single HDMI cable will carry both video and audio. But ultimately the picture will be only as good as the source, a cable cannot enhance a picture.

  2. HDMI will give you a way better picture then Component or RCA or S video.

I have HDMI cable running from my  Vizio TV to my  Directv Sat box and then to my TV to my Yamaha DVD player.

This will give you a clear and better sound.

Also the best benifit to HDMI cable's is that HDMI gives you Audio and video

    Best of luck Ray

  3. Only if you're cable box has an HDMI output on the back, then you  connect it to the HDMI input on the TV. It gets rid of all the static and brings out all the clarity in a picture. The only time you really notice it is if you have a tv that has 1080p picture. I have a 1080i picture on mine and I couldn't tell the difference from the component and HDMI. But if you have surround sound, you will notice a good difference in that.

  4. If your DVD player upconverts, the picture will be MUCH better.  As for normal channels, they are not much better.  Most can get FREE HDTV signals over an antenna, so try that :)

  5. yeah its better but but normal HD av cables dont look much worse
