  1. i would hook the hd cable box to hdmi or component

    hook the ps3 to hdmi

hook the ps2 to regular composite (yellow, red, white)

    and dvd player to component

and why would you even want to hook a dvd player to the tv when your ps3 and ps2 play dvds?

  2. To add to Alex B's answer your TV should also have an audio output that connects to you surround system, That way all your video inputs can be heard in surround.

  3. I had the similar problem with an all in one surround sound unit i bought.....I wanted all of my devices to use digital audio inputs, but I only had 1 digital input and 1 AUX input.

I found this receiver which will be released at the end of the month:  http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stor...

This tuner will allow to hook up all your devices digitally, then run (1) HDMI from this tuner to you TV / Monitor.  Devices that are not 1080 (such as PS2) will be upscaled by this tuner.  The question to you: Do you want to upgrade?

If not, follow the guys instructions above. Always use HDMI / DVI / Digital Audio connections when available and have the open ports.  With the link above....anything and everything in digital is possible.
