Express the area A of a right triangle as a function of the base b if the height of the triangle is twice its base

This is what the answer is supposed to Look like

  1. in general area = base* height ...right

    so know read the problem again...

    first you know that the area your trying to find is a right triangle..so it is half a box right....if you dont undertand this google "right trianle" so you can see a picture. so what ever you get divide it by 2

    then,

    the base = b

    also you know that the height or h is twice the base ...you can right this as h=2b....right

    finally put everything together,,,

    A= bh=b*2b= 2b^2, but because its a right triangle you divide it by 2.  (this i area is for a box)

    A= (2b^2)/2

    so,

    A(b,h)= b^2

    dam...im good
