This is my handycam that we have had for a while. My brother and I both plan to use it pretty often, and I am no technology whiz. It zooms in on only two points - all the way zoomed in and part-way between zooming in and way out. Even if it is in front of a stationary object for a minute on a tripod, it is still blurry. I think someone accidentally set something on the menu, but when I look through the menu, I select auto and manual focus both separate times with no difference in quality.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Ten points to the best, most effective answer!!

  1. Some camcorders have a RESET button built into them or a menu option to reset the camcorder to the default settings. The manuals of some camcorder models may have instructions on how to initialize the camcorder, which is another name for resetting the camcorder to the default or original factory settings. Refer to the instruction manual supplied with your camcorder for specific information regarding the availability of a RESET button or menu option to initialize or reset the default settings. Manuals are available online in the Manuals/Specs/Warranty section of the Sony® eSupport Web site.

Otherwise, continue with the manual reset procedure below:

    Turn off the camcorder.

    Remove the battery pack.

    Disconnect AC power adapter.

Move the power switch to the CAMERA position for 15 seconds.

Move the power switch to the OFF position.

Reconnect the AC power adapter or reinsert the battery.

    Turn on the camcorder.

If this dosint help you you may have to take it in and get it serviced by a tech
