  1. When you are on the ground and your hands are together in front of you, swing your arms down as you bend your knees and swing them back up to get power then when when you get ready to jump backwards always look in front of you, Even wen you jump backwards. hope i helped you!

  2. DON'T do backhandsprings on the trampoline. They will only throw them off and make it harder to do on the floor. Sign up for a tumbling class and your coach can explain it much easier than I can, but I'll try my best. On the floor, you have to push off much harder and don't expect that same springyness to magically help you gain momentum. I'll divide the process into steps:

    1. Standing up, you wan't to bend you knees (Don't drop your chest toward your knees or you'll undercut.) and swing your arms backward to speed up the backhandspring.

    2. Push backward and arch your back. Bring your hips up and make sure your arms remain by your ears at this point. After you push off with your legs, you want to follow through with your toes. This helps you gain even more speed and helps you point your toes, which will look better.

    3. As your hands touch the ground, keep pushing your hips out and block off the ground with your shoulders to get spring and bring your arms off the ground. Make this a habit because later on, you'll be connecting your backhandsprings and you want your hands to be off the ground by the time your feet touch.

    4. Snap your legs down hard by flexing your abdominal muscles so you can land on your feet. Your hands should be already up from step three.

Make sure you get a spot before trying it by yourself. If your dad knows how to spot, then he can spot you but I would suggest getting a professional coach to spot you and tell you what you're doing wrong. This way you won't have bad back-handspring habits.
