I need help with my blackberry pearl...?

I would like to install themes and games on my blackberry, but my blackberry desktop manager is literally a piece of c**p that doesnt work no matter what i do. I know how to put ringtones/pictures on the phone without the desktop manager, but i cant find out how to put games/themes on the phone without the desktop manager? Anyone know how?

you must  use the desktop manager  unless  you d/l  over the air  thru  your  berry.    if you use the d/m  to install  a  theme or game  you must go to the folder u saved the theme or game and select the .alx file for the install  to  work.     also  go to blackberry.com  make  sure  your d/m is  the latest version.
