ive taken it to so many mechanics and no one seems to know whats wrong with it. It has a new alternator, new batt, new compressor, new engine, new radiator and everything seems to be running fine, so why does it keep shutting off. They've even told me it could be because of the gas since i used to put regular but now ive changed to plus or premium and its still the same thing i even put a gas cleaner and nothing. HELP!!!!!! Hint(2001 toyota corolla ce)

  1. HI

First I wouldn't take it back to the shop that told you that it could be the gas you bought ( that's re delicious).

Could it be idling to slow when its in gear (if its an automatic)? the idle for an automatic should be about 650 to 75 RPM's's in Drive.

I just re looked at you post and saw you said compressor .. If thihappensns when the AC compressor is on turn off the AC and see if that stops the problem. If that works then it idling to slow when the AC is on. There should be a switch that tails the motor to speed up when the AC is on so it doesn't die this could be the problem.

    \good luck

  2. it may def be the distributor! tell them to check the distributor cap and see if there's any liquid in it! if it is that's the problem! and next time your driving look at the rpm and see if its jumping if so def. check the distributor.

  3. my car did that until i changed the computer, but in your case, it could be the gas filter or air filter.

  4. Sure its just not that fuel.. My dad used to put in diesal In his old car like the diesal Plus and it kept like cutting out... maybe thats the prob?
