Ok, so my car is old and the brakes aren't the best (one would have to floor the brakes for the car to fully stop). When i press my brakes while it snows or rains my anti-lock brakes come on, and I don't know how to stop this from happening. And when this does occur I don't know what to do to turn off the anti-brakes because my car keeps going and i have no way of stopping my car. this is very dangerous and i definitely need help. Does anyone have any suggestions? I can't afford to get them fixed...

  1. The problem could be wheel bearings or ABS sensors.  If you don't want to fix the problem then just remove the fuse for the ABS system.  This disables it.  Keep in mind that the ABS system is an important safety feature and disabling it combined with driving on poor brakes is dangerous.  For everyone's safety at least get the normal brake system working better if you can.  Good luck

  2. Your options are:

    1) Get a complete brake job done

    2) Park the car

    3) Ignore it and kill some innocent people

There is no magic option that will make your car stop without spending money, except maybe a tree.

    Good Luck!

  3. I'm not totally sure with it is that your saying.but it seems like you would want your anti-brakes to work on a snowy or rainy road . What abs dose is to make all of the tire's stop at the same time. That way you don't have just the front tire's stopping and the rear tire's still rolling. There's a fuse in the fuse box that you can take out to disable the anti brake system.NOTE when you do this all your tire will work on there on ,you might have one front tire and one rear tire working and the other two not doing anything,.
