I need help with my digital camera!!!! DXG-506V!?? easy points!!?

Question

I have a black DXG-506V camera that i got last Christmas i think!, when i got it i took everything out, put the batteries in the camera, and it never worked, so i put it away thinking that i would just go back to the store and returen or exchange it. but i totally forgot about it!! and now i don't know were the receipt is! am i just doin something wronge?? am i suppose to charge it first?? i read the directions and it just said to quickly pull and release the power switch down to turn on and off! i ust don't want to waste all that $$!!! so my question is what should i do??

they sell that camera at walmart

take it to the customer service desk and tell them it was a gift and when you opened it it didnt work

tell them you got it 3weeks ago from a walmart but you dont know which walmart they got it from

tell them you dont have the reciept but you just wanna exchange it

they will take it back because they sell it there
