I have a 1 year old yellow lab border collie and yesterday we were at the dog park for about an hour. When we came home he was pooped as usual. Well the next morning i noticed him walking like his joints was sore. Which could of happened he was playing pretty rough. As he was getting ready to p**p i noticed him lifting his back paw like something was inbetween his toes. I looked at his pad and the back one (the big one) was torn up and i looked at the other paw and it was the same. It looks like he was running on concrete and just ripping up his paws. I was looking for advice to make him more comfortable whlie this heals and i dont want it getting infected. Ive already been giving him asprin once twice a day, once when we get up and once when i get home from work and ive been keeping him quiet, no running or jumping, no walking unless necessary . I was thinking about putting a gauze pad on the area and wrapping it with some tape (the non stick stuff, the stuff they use when you donate blood or plasma, it doesnt hurt when you take it off, ive used it before).

  1. Just take him to the vet and they will fix it up but he may not be able to walk on them for a while. It was a good idea to use gauze and and wrap tape around it. The same thing happened to my German Shepherd. The vet gave us medicine to apply to her foot pads and after like two weeks they were gone.

Hope your dog gets well soon!
