Today i played golf and i could not hit a consistent straight drive like i normally do. I'm 14 and i have a ladies flex shaft, mid launch, and a swing speed of 75. Do you think i should get a senior flex shaft? And if yes what kind(one that will get me more distance)? By the way i have the womens Burner

  1. The L flex and A (Senior) flex are the same.   The difference is in the shaft weight.  It's not your clubs fault that you played in-consistent....

  2. If you are 14 go with a stock regular shaft. You will be able to mature into this, and stick with it until you break 89mph. Then move to stiff. I say look into fujikara shafts, or sent it to TM, and if it is new enough, they will give you a large discount.

  3. Recently I was having a very high launch angle from my 9.5 degree driver. So, I went to Golfsmith and had my swing analyzed. The problem I had was too stiff of a shaft. I had my driver re-shafted to std flex. Not only did my launch angle change from 25 to 10(about right), but my club head speed increased from 78 to 82. I am 63yrs old.

I am now hitting the ball much lower and getting more roll. Average drive 230. I have a 17 index.

My strong(fatherly) advice would be to get lessons from a recommended pro. Don't spend a dime on equipment until you have worked on your swing! Swinging a driver accentuates any problems in your swing. So you may be hitting a 7-iron acceptably, but things get worse as you get to your 3-iron or three metal.

Grooving a swing and tempo(at your age). will be like riding a bicycle once you've got it right it will basically stay w/ you.

  4. the two flexes are the same.

  5. It might be an off day but if it happens again maybe try differant flexes. if your still not sure get a pros advice. ps friends might have differant flex on their clubs so ask them for a go.

  6. It sounds like you just had a bad day at golf, that doesn't mean you have to go change everything. Work on it. Good Luck.

    Have a good one...
