  1. sounds like you just need to relax.

  2. you need to into drag racing, no corners.

  3. Just speed up to the speed limit and cruise.  If someone pulls out in front of you, then its their fault, not yours!  You can't prevent it no matter what speed you are going.  You just need a little trust in other drivers.

And you have to hit the brakes when turning.  So thats a good thing!

  4. go to a big empty parking lot, and drive around until you gain confidence that the car will respond to you.

when you start a new video game, if feels like you have no control at all, but soon it seems the game is almost responding to your thoughts, because you know the controls so well, you only have to concentrate on "what" to do..."how" to do it becomes second nature.

it'll come, you just need lots of cockpit time.

in a safe place where the fear won't interfere with the learning.

  5. forget you have someone breathing down your neck and RELAX

    pretend you are alone

    drink tea

burn incense at home to help relax before driving

    clear your mind

  6. Find an adult you feel comfortable learning to drive with.  There really is no substitute for a live person, there in the car with you, to answer this and many other questions.

I learned from my older siblings, that my dad was the one to learn from.  My mom was the type who would tell you 3,000 things at once about how to make a turn.  My dad was like, "Turn here...   OK. next time, try to miss the curb."  If your instructor stresses you out, get a different instructor, because you can not learn anything when you are stressed.

As for the problem you describe, it's called "goosing the throttle".  You hit the accelerator, then back off of it quickly, and repeat the cycle.

You need to learn how to apply steady pressure to the pedal.  (Parking lots are great for this, when the store is closed...  nobody to hit, no lanes.  Just you, getting used to the pedals.)

Also remember that every car is different, even within the same make.  I drive 16 different vehicles at work, and they all have variances in how the pedals respond.  With practice, you'll get used to it.

  7. Some people are better off riding the bus!  Just Kidding! You could get driving lessons from a professional instructor!  They are in your phone book, and after graduating you can get a discount on your insurance.

  8. just relax and everything will be ok. just press on gas lighly at first and u will get used to it. and then press on gas alot more and it will be the same feel.

  9. It sounds like you're young and just starting out and with anything in life, practice makes perfect (such a cliche, but true).  The main thing that you need to do is to be more relaxed behind the wheel.  Don't always worry about making little mistakes cause that's how you'll learn.  If you keep getting nervous about messing up, it can badly affect your driving performance.  In other words, when you worry behind the wheel, you create a self fulfilling prophecy--if you think you'll s***w up, then the more mistakes you'll make.  I used to be the same way when I first started driving.  I was so nervous while taking my driving test, and cause of that I made alot of dumb mistakes, but I was really lucky to pass my first time taking it with a 73%.  So just take a couple of deep breathes, and with time and alot of practice, you'll be a pro like me (I've been driving for over 8 years now).  Best of luck to you.
