I have just converted my tank to barebottom and have killed all my good bacteria in the gravel. So my ammonia is now 0.25ppm and lowerish and my nitrite is 1ppm. My nitrate is 15ppm. And ph is 7.2. For the last 3 days i have been doing 30 percent water changes a day. What should i do now is my tank close to being cycled. Im getting a aquaclear 70 tommorow.

Tank size: 29 gallon

Filters: aquaclear 70, 1 sponge insert and 3 biomax i swished the 3rd on in lol.

  1. If any of those filter elements came from an established tank the cycle should proceed relatively smoothly. Keep watching the numbers. Also paint the outside of the bottom of the tank with some sort of opaque material. A clear tank bottom can be very disorienting to your fish. Also  try not to increase the bioload too quickly.
