I need help with my friends animals?

Question

okay so i have a friend ive known since i was born.

she has 1 ferret1rabbit1dog2cats2micethis will be long.

she has a dog and she keeps it in the cage all the time in her room and if it barks or wants out to pee she yells at her and spanks her kinda abusive.so when i go over there i saw her dog and it was like really jumpy and i could tell she wanted love.one of her cats is grown up and she never cleans the litter box out or feeds it its really skinny.and then she got another kitten that she thinks has a tumer and its eyes always water and nose is runny and she wont take it to the vet and when i went over there it had no food or water of coarse i feed it and she sometimes keeps her kitten in her closet it is perfect for her but still a closet?her mice are never handled and never pays attention to them and there food wasnt eatable it was caked onto the shelve and i washed it off and got them some new food.she kept her rabbit out in fall . with no bedding only a cold metal floor. and i

If she was really your friend she would listen to you. I'm not here to question your very long friendship, but if she just can't listen to you once you talk about the pets and goes crazy;then you SERIOUSLY need to do something. Talk to your parents, call the shelter, whatever. Do SOMETHING! If she get's mad about you talking about her caring for her pets, then you need to tell her," If you  are really my friend listen to me." I know its a bit harsh, but if you don't want those pets to die do it.

you can tell what kind of person someone is by how they treat their subordinates.

holds true with this. she doesn't really care, she just thinks they're cute. you said her mom wouldn't drive you, so you're telling me her mom doesn't help the situation? that's sad, and wrong. call the local animal shelter and see what they could do, or the local ascpa or whatever is around you. they can make sure you stay anonymous so she can't outright blame you.

though if she's so picky about it being brought up...what's so good about this friend? do the animals a favor and call around and get them out of that house. but your friendship...why? if she can't take care of her animals what does that tell you? good luck

i know shes your friend in all but you have to report her to animal services or ask her for her animals then take her animals to the shelter and tell them your dilemma, if you love animals like i do. you shouldn't let that behavior go any longer.

Tell her if she doesn't start treatin her animals right which also means taken them to a vet, that you will report her to the police on animal crulty and if she doesn't then report her no animal should have to indure that treatment.

Research and print the facts on the legal aspects of animal abuse in your state, the transmission of zoonotic diseases, and present these facts to her giving her a nonnegotiable time line for re-homing the animals or commit to reporting their condition and then stick to it. Recognize that you are taking pity on her and not the pets, you are aiding her in her abuse even though its clear that is not your intent. She is obviously still living in her parents home per your post so this behavior is being reinforced at a level you cannot overcome. Your "friend" may very well choose to discard you as a friend should you take a hard stand on this issue, but ask yourself do you want to be considered an accomplice should this ever be reported and how would you feel if others knew you were aware of the situation and did nothing?  Be strong, listen to your conscience and take action accordingly.

did you use all you space for your question? anyways if your asking what you should do then call the Humane Society on her. if they are useless, which here they sometimes are, then ask her if you can take some of the animals. But seriously in some states she could be in big trouble for the treatment she is giving the animals. don't just let it continue, please call some one or do something. the animals, more then likely, won't live very long and suffer, no animal deserves to be treated like that!

why do you care. its your friends. not yours. her responsiblilty.
