How do you make a multiplication or division sign?

For multiplication, either press ' * ' (asterick) key located on NumPad on the keyboard or hold download shift and press '8' key (above 'u' key).

For division, press ' / ' key from your keyboard. Computer keyboards (most of them) do not have " ÷ " sign of division, so you have to use ' / '.

on the numeric keypad / is division and * is multiplacation.

you can also use the main keyboard area  shift 8 =* and to the left of the right shift key is a / for division
