I need help with my microwave oven?

I have a very expensive over the stove microwave oven. It is about 1 1/2 years old. This evening I put my coffee mug with water to heat it for instant coffee. Same mug I have used many times in this oven.

About 30 seconds after starting the oven, there were bright flashes and popping noises inside where the cup is. I pushed the stop button right away. I looked to see if I might have left the spoon in the cup, but I didn't. So I try a different cup of water, and it did it again.

I tried to call the place where I bought it, and found out it is hard to find someone to repair it. This oven was very expensive and has the vent for the stove top.

Does anyone know what is wrong and what I can do to fix it?

That is why I buy one I can easily afford to replace.  If I'm not going to be able to afford to repair it, why buy it?

Throw out that nasty little machine and get back to cooking the good old fashioned way!

My dear - you will not believe what the smell of fresh baked bread and scones wafting though your wee hoose will do for the whole family ...... you will begin to find all your wee bairns drifting back to the table waiting for their Mammy to ladle up some warming and hearty vegetable soup - grown from your own wee garden. Maybe from the stock of a wee chook that you have just despatched and popped the rest of in a lovely short crust pie .....

And your man my dear - what will he not do for you when he walks in from his hard day at the office to see the table laid with silver ware and a candle lighting the face of his adoring wife?

The rewards are so great - so do as I say lassy - throw away that wretched new fangled thing and get your hands into a bowl of pastry mix - and set about doing that chicken in.
