into a Physician Assistant Program. It has been 8 years since college but i had a little academic difficulty. I obviously was able to handle medical school caliber of courses without difficulty. How can i write that to show my determination? Also how can i write why i want to be a PA instead of continuing medical school? other than obvious reasons that i cant tell the school like PA school is cheaper, maybe easier, and better lifestyle.....

  1. Look at this as sell yourself to the school and keep in mind they are a busniess and need students.

Sell them on your maturaty and 8 years of whatever that has helped you see that you want to be a PA.

  2. Anybody reading your application is going to have the same question: why become a PA versus finishing medical school?  Dropping out of med school in the third year is very rare.  There are students who are asked to leave programs during the third year because medical people had an opportunity to interact with them and they determined the person was not suited to be a MD.  So your situation is going to raise some red flags.

You don't have to over-justify yourself.  Economic hardship is easily understood, as are most reasons why YOU chose to quit med school.  But make sure you express that it was your decision, not the program's.

  3. If you need help with this what are you going to do when you a Physician Assistant? Ask health questions on  here too! where suppose to ask the educated ones!
