  1. Look at the IPCC website

    http://www.ipcc.ch/ipccreports/assessmen...

There are summaries at the beginning of each report.  They are pretty easy to read and have good illustrations.  Start there.

You'll notice that that natural factors and human factors are considered.  Most people make the simple argument that the scientist did not consider the natural factors.  This is wrong.  That is the first thing that scientist considered.

Take a look at this booklet from the US National Academy of Sciences (just published).  It takes a while to load but it has most of what you need clearly stated.

    http://dels.nas.edu/dels/rpt_briefs/clim...

I had some moron say it was not credible because it had a white hand holding a black hand (an emotional appeal).  He had no scientific basis to reject the pamphlet, just a lame excuse so they he would not have to refute to facts.  Get use to this and try to put their arguments into perspective.  You can't fix willful stupidity.

The EPA also has a lot of information.  It will help.  This is under direct control of a President who would prefer to believe the science is wrong - but the truth leaked through.

    http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/

We haven't even looked at th USGS, NASA, NOAA.  But those sites provided will get you started.

In the end, the question of most importance to answer is which group protects people most - the pro warming group or the denialist?  If the pro warming people are wrong, what happens?  If the denialist are wrong, what happens?  Read the booklets and make a presentation and ask those questions at the end.  Reasonable people will get it.

  2. GW is a major scam manipulated by the governments to provoke fears and panic in societies to control them. It is also a money-making machine for some people (AL Gore) and some entities (political parties, pharmaceuticals, scientists, media cartels, etc).

Also, the government manipulates the weather with the HAARP project.

    My 2 cents.

  3. I'd sum up my reasons (along with my own education and background) as follows:

    1) We know the temperature has been rising over the past century

    2) We know human activity has been rising the level of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere

    3) We know that greenhouse gases trap some of the heat in the atmosphere that would otherwise go out into space

    4) The vast majority of peer reviewed scientific publications agree that global warming is real and caused primarily by human activities

    5) Virtually every respectable scientific organization in the western world agrees that global warming is real and humans are a significant factor

  4. I don't believe because the temperature is more closely correlated to the cycle length of sunspots than to anything else.

  5. I dont believe there is any more debate. The only people denying global warming, or, agreeing with global warming but saying humans are not doing it or humans are doing it but it cant hurt, are all ridiculous and just about the easiest articles i have ever been able to poke holes in and rip apart. Most of the denyers are from highly paied "think tanks" funded by companies like Exxon Mobile, who recently offered $10,000 to any scientist who could write a piece denying the results of human activity. And as a result of these highly paied, morally lacking "scientists", the media runs about 50/50 for either side of the global warming story. Below I put a website with the top 100 effects of global warming in the news, it has some interesting things in it. If you have time to pick up "an inconvienent truth" it really helps explain what im blabbering about (yes i know Al Gore is an idiot because South Park made fun of him but its worth it). One argument of the anti-earth people is that in 1975 there was a prediction of global cooling so why should we believe this prediction?  But that whole deal lasted a very short while where as global warming has had overwhelming data, from the scientists with morals, since the early 90's at least, probably earlier.  the list goes on but those who claim that its not true have slim to no arguments left when you listen to real sources.

  6. Global Warming is a tough debate. There are the pro's and the con's. (The people who believe it and the people that don't.) But from these catergories, you can create more. If you believe in it, there are several reasons for it you can choose to agree with.

I believe in global warming...anyone who says it is not happening is wrong - its been proven. HOWEVER, I am extremely doubtful that humans are causing this problem. The earth has been hotter than this in the past, and it will be hotter than this in the future. But I refuse to belive that burning fossil fuels is fueling the problem - no pun intended. :) I am quite sure that our Earth is only going through a slight change.
