I need help with my purple passion plant.?

Question

A friend of mine gave me a purple passion plant clipping that had a great root system. I attempted to plant it however after two weeks of it doing well, it began drooping and looked as if it was begining to die. I watered it once a week and ensured that I was not overwatering it as I have had an issue with plants in the past. I would really love to save the plant so I took it out of the soil and placed it back into water to see if I could revive it. Any suggestions? Please Help. Thanks!
