I've suffered from acne for over 3 years and im 14. I go to a dermatologist and I do what he says and I've tried everything to make my skin better. It's taking a huge toll on my emotions, and I can't stand it. Even though I've tried nearly everything and nothing is working at all, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Thankss<3

  1. I have three suggestions for you. First of all, try Airborne. It's a fizzy cold remedy that you can buy over-the-counter at just about any drugstore. I discovered by accident how well it works on acne and now I use it often for my occasional cystic acne. It costs around $5. Secondly, I started giving my 13 year old daughter children's probiotics (you can get them at just about any health food store) and her skin has cleared up better than anything the dermatologist ever gave her. You should check with your mom first before you take any of these things though to make sure she's okay with it. With the probiotics, my daughter takes one every other night. It's a capsule, but it has good bacteria in it that every body needs to be healthy and to fight bacterial infections (which is what acne is). Thirdly, wash your face with cool water ... never warm or hot. That only encourages bacterial growth. Also, rub an ice cube over it for a minute after you've finished washing. I guarantee you will have gorgeous skin in no time!

  2. I used to have the same problem.

I would hate to go to school or out with my friends and i felt that it held me back from doing a lot of stuff.

I am now 17 and I went to a dermatologist and he prescribed me with Differin Gel and a pill to take called Deoxycyclin (sp?).

I now only have about one big pimple a month.

I feel that it has saved my life actually.

Go to your dermatologist and ask him about there products and see if they would be good for you.

  3. ask your doctor for something proscription try proactive its worked really well for me.....if you do try something be persistant.....try to restrain from touching ur face a lot. in the meantime try coverup ..... but make sure you clean it off well everynight....also dont worry about them so much....lots of ppl our age have pimples you fit right inn loll

  4. I also tried proactuv, clinique, and so many others!! The only thing that works for me is Minocycline, which I got through my dermatologist. My friend told me about it, and it's wonderful. =] Good luck.

  5. you'll grow out of it evutually.. takes time..did u try acne free

    proactive

    clinique?

answer mine plz if u can

  6. At your age, hormones are the underlying reason, so to reduce your acne breakouts, I would recommend birth control pills. Talk to your mom about them and then if she agrees, go to a gynecologist or an OB/GYN, as they are the ones who prescribe them. I know someone who had terrible acne and once she started taking birth control pills, the acne cleared up. Hope this helps. If not, I would recommend using Clinique exfoliating scrub once a week, and then use a gentle cleanser once a day (excluding the day you use Clinique), such as Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash.
