Why not let your son write it himself?  Just let him choose a word for each letter.  It doesn't have to be anything fancy.

this is an acrostic poem  you just  think of a word that describes the word  spelt going  down  using each letter in the word.

He is in kindergarten and he has to write a poem??? Children usually only learn how to read and write in Grade 1. Then, they have to pass onto a few grades before they take English classes and learn how to write poetry.

I would change schools if I were you.

This type of poem is called an acrostic poem. I am not sure if you realize that it is NOT a rhyming poem. Each line should describe something about a snow man. I have listed a link which should give you an idea of how it works.

Sitting in the cold
