I have my passport already, and am moving to korea on the first of next month. I bought a one way ticket, and just found out you need a roundtrip. I was ganna book it when I got there. Is it hard to get a visa if you want to stay past 90 days? my husband is in the service over there and I am not sure how long I want to stay.

  1. There is a good chance they won't bother you about it. If you are an American, you should note that you only have 30 days. You can go to an immigration office and get a visa if you need to extend your visit. If you stay over 90 days you are required to obtain a foreign residence card (commonly referred to as an ARC Card or Alien Registration Card).

You can book a exit trip via hydrofoil boat from Busan to Japan. Then you can always cancel it once you arrive. Go through Kangsan Travel in Busan to do that.

I've been in Korea for 4 1/2 years now and this gets asked alot because people come over here to teach.
