  1. Do all of the above answers if you can.

You can also work on your footwork for your approach.  Mark off a 10 foot line.  Do your approach.  Land.  Hustle back to your starting position.  Do your approach.  And so on.  Do 10 approaches quickly.  Take a 1 minute break.  Do 10.  Do at least 10 sets of 10.

You want to be able to do your approach without thinking about your feet.  You can not think about the ball above you and your feet below you at the same time.

  2. The biggest thing for by yourself is definitely conditioning, most people don't realize how good of shape you should be in for volleyball... I would suggest change of direction drills with sprints (something like sprint 20ft touch the ground sprint 20ft back touch the ground and back and forth 5 times or so, take a break and do another five in a row)   ....... other than that bumping with a partner is great, without a partner, a wall can work for controlling your bumps

  3. I like to bump the ball up to myself and see how many times I can do that without letting the ball drop, it'll help you gain control of your bumping, same thing with setting, set it up to yourself again and again.  If you have some wall space on your house or a nearby school building or something, you can bump the ball to the wall and it will come back you and bump it again as though you have a partner.  Same thing with setting.  Plus if you want to practice your snap for spiking, you find wall space again and spike the ball about a foot away from the the wall on the ground.  The ball will hit the ground, then the wall, the wall will bounce it back up to you and you hit it again the same way.

  4. Well, first of all, congrats on making the school team!  You should be very proud of yourself.  What you should do is work on your endurance testing because if there is a long rally, you need to be prepared and not get tired, because there will be a lot of moving.  I would just work on bumping, digging (if you have a partner!) and then definently setting, because everybody at one time or another will have to take the setter's place.  Good luck, and let me know if there is anything else you need!

  5. there are lots of things you can do like setting and passing to yourself, doing sets on a wall, finding 7 feet on a wall and goin 30 feet back and serving, also just running and push ups help with comditioning..GOODLUCK!
