  1. Calculations don't really matter when spooling your reel.  It is usually better to eyeball it and leave a 1/8" of line from the lip of the spool.  That is usually the best amount of line to have on a fishing spool.

  2. That doesn't sound right, but, really, what difference does it make?

    Just spool it up to within about 1/8" of capacity on the spool.

  3. it is plane geometry 210 is to ten as what is to 12

    10                                  12

    ___          =             ___

    210                                   ?

  4. don't think, do

    [this isn't advice for everything though!]

  5. yes that's close but look for diameter of the line that makes a difference

  6. Just spool it up, you're wasting time with needless calculations when you could be fishing. Go catch a bunch!

  7. Put it on the reel and find out.

  8. It depends on which type of Trilene you are using...XT has a different diameter that XL does...I use the 12lb XL on my spinning set up...but I only use a spinning reel now for weightless flukes and Shakey Heads...make sure you use some backing line, this helps with line twists...all I do with my spinning reels is I tie the new line to the backing and then throw the spool in the floor...reel down until my rod tip is right on the spool...and reel until the reel spool is about 3/4 full...this will also help with line twists...I don't go by the feet amount of line I put on...just how full the reel spool is...hope this helps
