I posted this question before, but I didn't get any responce other then one which was of no help.

Late last year I upgraded my system from IE6 to IE7. Everything works fine exept for a home page. I am connected to the Internet. I'm on line. I can go to any and all Internet sites. It's being able to set up a "Home Page" that doesn't allow me to do. I have clicked on the Yahoo link (make Yahoo my home page), I have gone to IE tools, Internet Options to set up Yahoo as my home page. I have done these things several times. It doesn't retain the change. Everytime I connect to the Internet instead of going right to my home page it just go to a generic page that says, "Sorry, the page you requested was not found". I have to manually go to My Yahoo page everytime I connect to IE. I like IE7, it has really nice fetures, but this is really fustrating. Is Yahoo compatible with IE7? Is anyone familiar with IE 7 that can give me an idea of why it's doing this and how it can be corrected?

  1. There is malware out there that blocks you from changing anything like that.  It won't necessarily change it to anything else, it just stops you from doing that.  CCleamer, AdAware or SpyBot may find it and kill it for you.

Another possibility is that you are using a name on the computer that does not have administrative rights.  That will also stop this type of change.  You will have to be granted those rights by the administrator account.
