I need help with sims 2 castaways?

i have 2 orangutans and i was wondering if they can try for a baby like sims do.and i was wondering if they can interact and get the relationship higher.

They can't, they are like pets in Sims 2: Pets, you can interact with them only using your sim, you can't make them interact with others on their own, although they do it automatically.
