  1. I suffer from severe insomnia and even with sleeping meds I don't get much sleep. I have a panic/anxiety disorder. Thyroid problems and also menopause can cause insomnia. Drinking alot can get you too sleep but you will wake up soon after. My son suffers from insomnia also from night terrors. There are alot of things that can cause insomnia. Stress is a big one.Working different shifts where your body clock can't get regulated.Hope this helps.

  2. Insomnia or restless leg syndrome.

  3. I have sleep Apnea, a potentially fatal sleeping disorder. When I was tested at the sleep laboratory, it was discovered that I woke up 83 times and hour and stopped breathing for more than 25 seconds 26 times an hour. Before I had my CPAP machine, I was always falling asleep, anytime, anywhere for a few minutes, now with my CPAP machine (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) I sleep all through the night. What the machine does is through a mask that I wear that is connected by a hose to a machine that filters outside air and continuously forces air up my nose to keep me breathing.

    It has changed my life.

  4. Insomnia

  5. In addition to insomnia, check out wiki entries on anxiety and sleep apnea. Anxiety can cause insomnia. Sleep apnea is when you stop breathing while asleep--this can cause people to struggle to stay awake.

http://www.sleepdisorderchannel.com/inso... lists the breakdowns of the 3 types of insomnia.

One weird type is altitude insomnia--when you're at a higher altitude there is less oxygen than you're used to, so you keep waking up panicked without knowing why.

  6. post traumatic stress and reliving may interrupt sleep

  7. Insomnia is a frequent cause, but what many people dont know is Anxiety and panic disorder also causes sleep related drug/alcohol abuse which is used as an excuse to allow them to sleep through the night.

For some, going to bed is a time when they feel alone and vulnerable. A few beers takes the edge off and makes them feel more at ease.

  8. sometime i cant sleep unless i listen to some chillout music

  9. Insomnia is the word.

  10. Insomnia is what you just described.
