I have tried all the methods for potty training and nothing works. HE is not afraid to sit on the potty, matter fact he will sit there for 3 hrs plus, but will hold it. My other son was so easy...any ideas on how someone else got it done?

  1. Give the potty traing a rest for a month, and try again.  He might not be ready yet.  When your other son uses the bathroom, make a big deal about him going, in front of the other son.  It will encourage him to go.  And make it a big deal when he does go!

  2. Ah that brings back memories, my son wanted to take hs potty to bed as a cuddly toy!

leaving several potties around the house can help, lots and lots of praise when he finally goes on it.

Maybe a reward system ( like a tick chart) with a treat at the end of the week if he succeeds!

Time and Patience is the only way forward, he will learn in his own time.

    Good luck

  3. Have him wear a long t-shirt and go bottomless for a few weeks around the house.  He'll be able to figure things out quicker this way.  Keep the potty in the middle of the house where he has easy access and celebrate when he finally uses it correctly.  Don't put him on the potty unless he has an accident.  Then sit him on the potty immediately afterward for conditioning purposes.  Good Luck!
