What's a fancy way to say writer or author. Sort of like creator of.... or something like that... It can be a phrase that eludes to an author (of a book).

and what's another unique word for uncommon. I need something fancy and intellectual sounding... :)

Thanks!

  1. Some writers are referred to as wordsmiths.  They make constructs out of words the way that blacksmiths make constructs out of the black metals, or whitesmiths out of the precious metals.

Ah, but "fancy and intellectual-sounding" isn't exactly a goal that you can aim for directly.  You'd be better off finding the more specific meaning you have in mind when you're thinking of the word "uncommon", and then finding the word that matches the very specific meaning you discover.

You may want to take the same route when looking for the right word or phrase for "author".

"Fancy and intellectual-sounding" shouldn't be your goal.  "Precise and well-considered" should be.  You can measure precision and consideration.  You can pursue precision and consideration.  And, doing so helps you avoid the risk of sounding pompous and falsely intellectual.
