  1. play tennis its fun.

  2. I've heard of lots of people getting over their asthma with conditioning.  I think if anything, playing a sport may help your asthma, so long as you ramp up to a certain level of endurance.  Don't worry, your heart is supposed to accelerate when you exert yourself.  Don't choose a sport which may upset you condition at first..Cross Country probably out since running outdoors in the spring time (pollen) may not suit you.  So this summer maybe find a track or a gym where you can work on building your endurance and most of all your recovery from exertion.

Start off with short distances. Sprint for a while then walk to cool down. Then sprint again.  Your body and most importantly your lungs will get used to exertion and recovery.  Then ramp up the intensity and the length of your sprints until maybe you can sprint a quarter mile without stopping.

Do this and you'll be ready by the time school starts again.  Especially with softball or volleyball.  There's not a ton of running in either of those, (not like say Soccer) and a lot of stops between play.  Exertion and recovery. .. Good luck to you.  Besides you're 11, you'll probably grow out that asthma.

  3. it depend on how bad is your asthma...but i mean it shouldn't stop you from having fun playing other sports. You're still young so try playing it, if you feel really really bad after playing it, then you know how bad is your asthma. So next time you play, play it in a slower pace. This will help you get over the asthma. After all volleyball and softball doesn't requires continuous running laps as soccer, tennis, or basketball. But you should try it by yourself, and remember to enjoy it and have fun!!

  4. everyone is different. What you would probably want to do is get yourself into a rhythm with and in exercising. for an example, jog in-place for while (like for a couple of minutes) than switch to another form of exercises. Basically, do cardio-form of exercises because it really do help. also train yourself to breath better in different kinds of exercising activities. try doing the "breath in-breath out" method when you're pacing yourself too hard or when you need to take a breath. do yoga to also train your lungs for fast and slow breathing rates that might occur in the future.

once this step is completed, than you can go right ahead into long distance running, and probably sprinting.

Again, everyone is different and have an different kind of approach. But, you can do it. Anything is possible.

  5. Volleyball would be good for you because you dont run long distances in games. You might have to at practicce but if you tell your coach about your condition then she might not make you run and may give you another exercise.
