Anyone interested in chatting with me? I have a few questions and need some advice...email me and I'll give you my IM address. Thanks in advance.

OVERVIEW:

I'm dating a man who lives 100 miles away from me. I love him dearly and vice verse. He has two kids that he has every other weekend and Wednesdays. He's starting to talk about the next level and meeting the kids...which I'm all for. Then the other day he said "we're two different people." I don't know really what he meant by that. He also said that we've been avoiding lots of issues cause we're in love but at some point we're going to have to deal with it. I plan on moving to where he is within 6mo-1yr. I've never dated a man with kids nor do I know if I'm ready. But the fact of the matter is I love him and want to be with no one else than him. I need some advice from someone who has kids and is maybe in this situation or someone who stepped into the step parenting world...good or bad...I want to hear it all.

  1. it is difficult at times... but I wouldnt change it for the world. Just dont push yourself on his kids- let them warm up to you in THEIR time- not yours. Also, make sure you let the father have one-on-one time with his kids.

  2. Contemplating being a Childless Stepmom (CSM) is a scary thing! I have found so much help at the resource I'm listing below. There is a whole community of CSMs to talk to!! (You don't have to be married to be considered a CSM.)
